Established in August 2019, Chow Cute Cafe is a combined boutique dog day-care, dog grooming centre, pet spa, and pet boarding house, with a pet-friendly cafe. Chow Cute Cafe offers a full range of dog grooming services, dog training, and even pet portrait services for fur-kids! The cafe has a decent range of food options for both humans and pets alike.
Ambience at Chow Cute Cafe benefits from being in a tranquil location surrounded by ample natural greenery, great for dogs to run around. Housed in a quaint and beautifully restored colonial building, there's indoor seating, outdoor patio sheltered seating, and outdoor al-fresco lawn seating. Furnishings are modern and comfortable, and there's ample natural light during the day, while warm lights cast a soft glow at night. I love the decor and artwork adorning the cafe, including the paintings of dogs (some of which are for sale).
Service at Chow Cute Cafe is enthusiastic and friendly. The relatively young staff are quick to greet and seat guests, taking orders efficiently (though payment is self-service over the counter), and cleaning up quickly when diners leave. I like that there is a games area with a variety of board games and card games to choose from, great for a fun time with family or friends. The resident dogs are well looked after here, and customers can also play with the dogs - there's usually at least 2 dogs around, 1 of which is typically a chow chow.
Food at Chow Cute Cafe is simple Western style fare, quality of which is average at best, not terrible, but not outstanding either. Most options are decently tasty and sufficiently filling, but folks don't come here solely for the passable food. Their appetizers and desserts tend to be slightly better than the mains. Portions are sized for individuals. They also offer a range of pet food for dogs and cats, so your pets aren't left out. Prices are comparable to other cafes, budget about SGD $28 per person for a human meal here.

During our visit, there were 2 dogs in residence. The mature Dog Chow Chow Lola was more mellow, and after coming over and sniffing people, would allow them to pet her while she sat quietly beside them. The younger Dog Samoyed Barkley was more hyperactive, and true to his name, did bark quite a bit, and busied himself sniffing and running around. Both so cute!

The Chow Platter (SGD $38.90) was pretty expensive for the portion and quality. The Truffle Fries featured crisp shoestring potato fries seasoned with salt and truffle oil, coated in melted cheese, resulting in a bold starchy salty cheesy earthy flavour, not bad at all. Loved the Chowsage, which featured perfectly grilled juicy snappy pork sausages with meaty salty savoury smoky flavour. The Onion Rings were above average, the medium sized white onion slices coated in batter were crisp and crunchy with lovely vegetal sweet salty flavour. The Chow Bites were surprisingly good, these plant-based nuggets had a tender moist chew with decent sweet savoury flavour, yum. Overall pretty tasty.

The Chowyaki Chicken (SGD $18.90) was underwhelming. While the boneless chicken thigh was tender and moist, the quality is similar to those in supermarkets, just barely passable. The sticky teriyaki sauce glaze was overly sweet salty too, and left me feeling thirsty. The fluffy Japanese pearl rice had grainy sweet herbal flavour, and the cherry tomatoes were decently juicy with vegetal sweet notes, both being average at best.

The off-menu special of Tuna Cutlet & Chips (SGD $19.80) was underwhelming as well. The processed tuna fish cutlets were crumbly tender with meaty savoury salty flavour, similar to those from a fast-food franchise. Served with crisp shoestring potato fries seasoned with salt, which was alright.

The Chow Cinnamon Waffle With Chowookie & Chow Rum (SGD $16.80) was good, and I would order it again. The cinnamon spiced waffle was fluffy soft, with fragrant bready sweet spice flavour, yum. The Chowookie is a cookies & cream ice cream, with more chocolatey grainy sweet flavour, muted on the milky notes. The Chow Rum is a rum & raisin ice cream, with juicy rum infused raisins studded within, lending a boozy floral earthy sweet flavour. The drizzle of rich maple syrup with sweet floral notes just lifts the entire dessert, so tasty. Highly recommended!
