Opening its doors in September 2012 in the hip, up-market district of Thonglor, in Bangkok, Thailand, Bottoms Up Bar Thonglor is a trendy casual gastrobar serving a wide range of drinks / beverages, and some passable Western style food. Expect to see quite a few people chilling out and relaxing here, even on weeknights, with weekends being quite packed till late!

Ambience at Bottoms Up Bar Thonglor is in-your-face. Boldly decorated, with crystal chandeliers, quirky wall murals and statements, and a huge, bright signage, it's hard to miss this place along the street. Offering ample indoor and outdoor seating, the place has decently comfortable furnishings. Seating is well thought out, with good allocation of space for privacy. But the most outstanding feature is their live band, which performs the latest pop / rock / R&B chart topping hits. They also offer an outdoor shisha activity.

Service at Bottoms Up Bar is average. Not all staff can converse or understand English, which is a problem, especially in the Thonglor neighbourhood which has large numbers of expats and tourists. Still, those who can converse in English are friendly and polite, though it's hard to attract their attention over the loud music. Not much product knowledge demonstrated by staff, as the menu has comprehensive English descriptions. I do like that they accomodate simple special requests.

Food at Bottoms Up Bar is below average, just barely edible at best, and not that tasty. While the menu is extensive, it features mostly Western style dishes, many of which are executed better elsewhere. What stands out here is the extensive selection of bespoke cocktails and their wine list, among the widest variety in the city! Beverages here are creative and unique, but also expensive, budget about THB ฿330 / SGD $12.80 per drink. Still, I would return to Bottoms Up Bar Thonglor just for the cocktails, wines, and live band music!

The Pizza 4 Cheese (THB ฿350 / SGD $13.60) could be better. The 4 cheese topping is pretty good, a mellow, savoury sweet salty sharp blend of cheddar, parmesan, mozzarella, and blue cheese. But the thin pizza crust was half baked and semi-firm, lacking both crunch and the toasty aroma of good pizza.

Decent attempt at a Bacon Cheese Fries (THB ฿150 / SGD $5.90), the medium-thick cut fries are piping hot, slightly crisp outside, fluffy soft inside. But the garnish is weak, there isn't much cheese to begin with, and the bacon is limp in flavour. You're probably better off just getting their regular French fries, which are also cheaper in price.

The Teriyaki Chicken Wings (THB ฿190 / SGD $7.40) feature pre-packaged frozen winglets, simply reheated. At least they put effort into creating the sticky sweet teriyaki sauce, which is a tasty, pretty good dipping sauce!

The Cocktail Ha Cao (THB ฿330 / SGD $12.80) is a World Class competition cocktail, created in Singapore with the theme of 'Chinatown'. It features a blend of Ketel One vodka, ginger syrup, yuzu sake, and a surprising Mandarin orange infused Chinese vinegar. Taste is sweet sour spicy, with fruity notes, very pleasant and drinkable.

The Cocktail Gintara (THB ฿330 / SGD $12.80) is a watermelon inspired cocktail. It features a blend of watermelon juice, Tanqueray gin, elderflower syrup, and rose orange. Taste is refreshing and sweet, with intense fruity floral notes, very elegant.
