Tucked away in a quiet street, Geu Jib Korean Beef (그집한우) is frequented by locals for its delicious barbecued beef at reasonable prices. We'd chanced upon Geu Jib Korean Beef while using a proximity search online, and decided to try on the strength of its many good reviews.
Ambience at Geu Jib Korean Beef is modern and functional. The warmly lit space has just a few tables, able to accommodate up to 30 persons, or about 10 groups. Ventilation is good, so the place is relatively odour-free. When packed, the place has ambient noise, a good buzzing atmosphere.
Service at Geu Jib Korean Beef is amazing, on account that there's just 1 staff operating in the entire restaurant. The lone personnel is kept busy attending to each table, taking and preparing orders, collecting payment, and cleaning up when diners are done. Not sure if this is to reduce overheads, but the staff is hardworking, efficient, and attentive, well deserving of a good compensation.
Food at Geu Jib Korean Beef is focused on Korean barbecue, specifically featuring cuts of beef. Ingredients are fresh, and of good quality. Each person has to order a portion, which is decently sized and rather filling. Prices are more affordable than elsewhere and good value for money, budget about KRW ₩32,000 / SGD $32 per person.

A decent range of sides to accompany the barbecue meal, including fresh Sangchu / Lettuce, seasoned Kongnamul / Cold Soy Bean Sprouts, sharp Saeng Maneul / Raw Garlic, marinated Pa Muchim / Green Onion Salad, and thick Gochujang / Fermented Chili Paste as a condiment. Yum. These paired well with the barbecued beef.

Ordered a selection of beef cuts, including the Deungsim Gui / Grilled Beef Sirloin (KRW ₩17,900 for 100g), the Ahnchangsal Gui / Grilled Beef Outside Skirt (KRW ₩27,000 for 100g), and the Galbisal Gui / Grilled Beef Prime Rib Fingers (KRW ₩15,900 for 100g), while the Neutari Beoseot Gui / Barbecued King Oyster Mushroom was complimentary. Staff helped us grill this over the charcoal flame, each piece of beef was succulent and juicy with robust smoky meaty savoury salty sweet flavour. The mushroom was chewy with vegetal earthy salty flavour. Highly recommended!

The Yukhoe / Beef Tartare (KRW ₩20,000 for 100g) here is among the better renditions we had, with the pear and raw beef being incredibly fresh. Highly recommended!
