Cafe Cartel

Styled after a typical American diner, Cafe Cartel serves up American comfort food, and fusion food of local favourites, in a comfortable, cozy setting. 


Ambience at Cafe Cartel is homely and cozy, with comfortable chairs and simple decor. 


I found service at Cafe Cartel to be alright, with nothing terrible or outstanding, just decent. Prices at Cafe Cartel tend to be slightly cheaper then other cafes, and dining here is more value for money. Their weekend breakfast is the most value for money, averaging less than SGD $10 per person for a meal. 


Food at Cafe Cartel is quite decent. Portions are nicely sized, and you'll normally leave full. They only have a few signature dishes which are outstanding, these are prominently listed on the menu, and are the best items you can get at Cafe Cartel. The rest of the dishes on offer are average at best. 


Cafe Cartel used to offer free bread, but not anymore. These days, a basket of bread goes for about SGD $0.50. 









The dish most closely associated with Cafe Cartel, the St. Louis Pork Ribs Honey Glaze is easily among one of the best barbeque pork ribs in Singapore. It has won several awards for the tangy, savoury BBQ flavour, and tender, fall-off-the-bone quality of the meat. Recently, there has been inconsistent quality with this dish though, as meat sometimes isn't as tender as it should be.

They offer a range of dessert inspired Lattes, which I found quite interesting.

The classic American Cheesecake, which differs from the New York Cheesecake by having no orange citrus flavour, just the classic cheese flavour.

A fusion dish, the Pan Fried Macaroni combines this European pasta with spicy sambal. This is also an award winning signature dish of Cafe Cartel.

The Omelette Mushroom, Ham And Cheese is only served during breakfast, available on Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays from 8.30am till 11.30am. Rather than stuff the omelette with both the ham and cheese, the Cafe Cartel version melts the cheese on the outside instead. The inside is warm, fluffy and creamy... Really good!

I personally feel this is one of the best, and cheapest, Hot Chocolate in Singapore. The chocolate taste has been boosted with the addition of chocolate syrup / chocolate sauce, and chocolate powder. It has a smooth texture and rich chocolate taste.

The Mini Sweet Bun is complimentary with an order of any 'combo' breakfast meal.
