Tucked away in the quiet neighbourhood of Telok Kurau, The Garden Slug is a comfortable cafe specializing in All-Day Breakfast / Brunch, and desserts.
The Garden Slug has a simple, homely ambience, without much decor. The interior of The Garden Slug is rather spacious, and they also have some outdoor seating, which makes it a nice place for a quiet brunch, or just to relax and chill with desserts.
I find service at The Garden Slug to be really excellent, with staff ensuring that your dining experience is comfortable. Staff will also ask for feedback on their service.
Food portions at The Garden Slug are quite large, American-sized portions. The food itself is slightly more healthy, with a majority of the dishes comprising of more vegetables and less meat. Bread seems to be homemade, and is the healthier wholemeal type of bread.

The All Day Big Breakfast is a good sampler platter, but small eaters may wish to share as the portion is quite large. The Runny Salmon Scramble-Up With Pork Sausage features smoked salmon, which paired well with the creamy scrambled eggs and homemade bread. The Ohmelette-Homelette is liberally stuffed with green, red and yellow bell peppers, button mushrooms, bacon and zucchini.
I found the Latte to be weak, and not good at all. However, the Hot Chocolate is definitely among one of the better ones I've had, with a rich chocolate taste.
The Tofu And Zucchini Fingers are slices of tofu and zucchini that have been battered and deep fried. I found the texture of the zucchini to be tastier and more appealing than the tofu though. Another speciality is the Old Fashioned Chicken Broth, which has a tasty broth, and a huge slice of wintermelon, with small cubes of bone-in chicken.
The Ugly Salmon Cakes is actually a salad. The actual cakes itself is made from potato salad and smoked salmon. The portion is quite huge, and a little overwhelming for 1 person to consume.
The signature cakes here are the Brownie Popsicles and Red Velvet Cake. Do try these, they are quite good!
