Introduction
Located just a 10 minutes drive away from the Delhi airport, Ashok Country Resort is a quiet and relaxing place whose main business is a transit hotel, where tour groups come in to stay 1 night, before heading out to other parts of Delhi. However, it is also a pretty good place for an extended stay, and for business meetings.


Ambience
The external ambience of Ashok Country Resort is excellent, with European style exteriors and well manicured lawns. Similarly, the interior is also well designed, combining timeless European influences with modern Indian design and artwork. On closer inspection though, Ashok Country Resort does show its age, as upholstery is dated, and corners of furniture or the flooring looks worn out.


Room
As a 3 star hotel, Ashok Country Resort is quite good. Rooms are well equipped, though furniture is somewhat dated. Cleanliness isn't the best, as the rooms tends to be slightly dirty in places, and the bathroom had worn out tiles. While comfortable and functional, more particular or demanding customers may find the rooms at Ashok Country Resort to be untolerable due to the lower standard of cleanliness here.


Food
Food at the Piccadilly Restaurant & Bar in Ashok Country Resort is excellent. The chef is especially skilled at producing traditional Indian / Delhi / Muglai cuisine. However, the available range of options at the buffet is rather limited, and doesn't change much on a day to day basis. This is fine as most customers are only transiting through, and rarely stay at Ashok Country Resort for an extended period of time. But as I was here for nearly a week, the food quickly became repetitive.


Service
Service at Ashok Country Resort is good. Staff are polite and efficient, and all of them are able to converse in English. However, the room service is rather limited by the menu, and generally isn't that good. Thumbs up though, for their network with public transport operators (cabs / taxis), as they only use trusted people to ferry guests around. These people are trustworthy, and you'll be quite safe with them.


Facilities & Activities
The facilities and activities at Ashok Country Resort are somewhat standard things you'll expect to find in a hotel; swimming pool, gymnasium, spa, etc. The real highlight here are the arranged city tours, as Ashok Country Resort is only about a hour's drive or less away from the major attractions in Delhi, India. Alternatively, you can ask the staff at Ashok Country Resort to hire a cab driver who can speak English as a guide for you.
