The Crane Dance in Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa island is a once daily free show that takes place at 9pm everyday. Due to its location, it can be viewed from the Crane Dance viewing gallery, the Sentosa Boardwalk, the Tiger Sky Tower, the Merlion, and even the waterfront at VivoCity.
The Crane Dance combines water special effects, pyrotechnics, multimedia lights and sound together with video and animatronics to tell a story of 2 mechanical cranes, whom through a journey of love and courtship, find themselves magically transformed into real cranes.
While the story is simple, it's easy to follow, but the real highlight of the world's largest dancing animatronics is the audio visual spectacle of the huge mechanical cranes. Designed by Mr. Jeremy Railton, the Crane Dance is inspired by folk tales / fairy tales where the power of love is able to infuse life into inanimate objects.
If you're around the area, and it's near 9pm, it's worth catching the Crane Dance. Allocate just 10 minutes for viewing the entire show, and perhaps another 5 minutes to get a good place / viewing spot before the show begins. Admission is free, but beware of rainy / wet weather, as the entire area is open to the elements.
