Tea aficionados can look forward to a 3-day festival that celebrates tea brands and craftsmen from all over the world, including 5 new-to-Singapore tea brands, 16 masterclasses, and 2 international tea championships. This year, Teapasar has launched the portable ProfilePrint - a rapid food scanner that identifies quality, taste profile, and origins of the tea leaves, based on metabolomic fingerprint and machine-learning algorithms, all without harming the tea leaves. Developed in Singapore, it aims to bring greater transparency and efficiency to the tea industry, empowering consumers to know if we’re drinking real tea, or misrepresented overpriced tea.

Founded in October 2016 from a Singaporean girl's love for tea & cats, Kittea creates gourmet tea blends with flavours inspired by cats from around the world. It's no secret that I'm a regular customer of Kittea, puchasing from them since 2018. With no artificial flavourings or preservatives in their artisanal, hand-packed teas, their range of creative flavours carry taste profiles that are both bold and soft, meek and wild, not unlike the felines that inspire it.

Crafted by the Cheng Yew Heng Candy Factory, the Jewels Rock Sugar Sticks brand represents the pinnacle of 70 years of heritage and expertise in producing the finest, purest rock sugar candy, incorporated with creative modern flavours. These colourful, naturally crystallized rock sugar candies encourage a playful exploration of beverages, pairing especially well with tea, coffee, or cocktails. Hence, Jewels Rock Sugar Sticks has partnered with The 1872 Clipper Tea Co. to curate a novel tea drinking experience. Taste the candy, then dip it into the tea and stir, and finally taste the candy again. I must admit it really makes a difference to both the candy and the tea, lifting the overall experience!

The good folks behind Pin Tea aim to tell travel stories through gourmet Singaporean location-inspired teas. Named for the action of "pin pointing" a place on a map, Pin Tea offers 100% honest tea, natural and free from artificial flavourings, sourced from organic tea farmers. Each flavour takes inspiration from various iconic neighbourhoods around Singapore, and their traditional, bold taste profiles unfurl a story with every steep. I learnt their teas make for interesting cold brews too!
