Description:
Mutton Vindaloo is a North Indian dish from Goa, derived from a Portuguese dish called Vinha D' Alhos. Mutton Vindaloo consists of cubes of mutton in a sour and spicy curry.


The curry for a traditional Mutton Vindaloo is made with onions, kasmiri chili, garlic, ginger, powdered turmeric, powdered coriander, powdered cinnamon, mustard seeds, pepper, cardamom, cloves, salt, garam masala and palm vinegar / white wine vinegar.

Some versions will also include potatoes or peas. Finally, the cubes of mutton are added and simmered till done.

Mutton Vindaloo is quite spicy, although some stalls sell an even spicer version called Tindaloo. Mutton Vindaloo is served with Indian breads, rice, pickles or yoghurt / curd.
