Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of nearby orchard road and newton circus, Skyve Elementary Bistro & Bar exudes a quiet charm, while serving up modern european and french cuisine.

Quiet and peaceful, without large crowds or noisy surroundings, Skyve Elementary Bistro & Bar is great for relaxing and unwinding. The ambience makes you feel as if you're in a countryside bistro. Outdoor seating is comfortable and cooling, due to the presence of fans. Indoors, you have a choice of the lounge, a comfortable area with magazines to browse, or the dining area, modeled after a proper fine dining restaurant.

Service at Skyve Elementary Bistro & Bar is personal and friendly, and staff will gladly make accommodations for requests.For example, I once arrived at 5.20pm, not knowing that dinner service only starts at 6pm. The staff were kind enough to take my order in advance, and start preparing my food, which was served exactly at 6pm. Thumbs up to the staff for respecting their house regulations, while being thoughtful of the customer.

On a visit with my best friend, staff gladly helped us shift from table to table, as we wanted to dine indoors, then move outdoors to relax and take photos.

Food at Skyve Elementary Bistro & Bar is in the style of modern european / french, with the french cooking technique of sous vide being used to prepare many items. This results in many dishes having a full, intense flavour, especially meat or seafood courses that come out juicy and aromatic.

I particularly liked the (Eggs Benedict Sous Vide With Soft Poached Egg, Grilled Portobello, Iberico Ham, Spinach Salad, Confit Of Cherry Tomato, Hollandaise Sauce And Gratinated Truffle) at Skyve Elementary Bistro & Bar. Cutting into the softly poached egg and letting the yolk run down into the bed of spinach, ham and portabello mushroom... The combination of sweet, salty and savoury was simply divine. Though advertised as an appetizer on the menu, it could be a light meal in itself.

The (Petuna Ocean Trout Sous Vide Poached With Black Olive And Seaweed Crust, Seasonal Vegetables, Potato Pave, Herb Fondue), while very tasty and tender, also had a little too much saltiness in the crust. If it was toned down a bit, it would have been much better. But don't get me wrong, it was still delicious!

I'm looking forward to trying the brunch at Skyve Elementary Bistro & Bar!
